• When subscribing to a local ISP, deciding on the appropriate package is critical. Three numbers are always listed download speed, upload speed and monthly bandwidth allowance. If you are using streaming services like Apple TV, Netflix, Disney, etc. download speed and allowance are very important. Download speeds need to be minimum of 25 Mbps and data allowance unlimited.
• Home office work sometimes requires more bandwidth than you would think. Corporate applications like Microsoft Outlook use large amount of data to keep the application in sync. Video conferencing apps require a minimum download of 25Mbps but more importantly, the upload speed must also be at least 25Mbps. This will allow for clean webcam performance while other users are using bandwidth.
